After your summer entertaining efforts, you will no doubt have some leftover Heritage Terracotta Pots lying around the house (we certainly do!)

You’ll need:

  • Terracotta Heritage Dip Pot
  • Dark Pink (magenta) Acrylic Paint
  • Plastic Cup
  • Rubber gloves
  • Deep plastic container (large enough to match depth of pot)
  • Painters sheet or garbage bag
  • Drinking straw
  • Potted flower/plant of choice

  • Lay out painter’s sheet and prepare plastic container and plastic cup
  • Fill container with 2/3 paint 1/3 water
  • Mix until evenly combined
  • Wearing rubber gloves, turn the terracotta pot on it’s side and role evenly into the paint, covering the entire circumference
  • Place upside down onto plastic cup and allow excess paint to drip onto painter’s sheet
  • Once dry (30 mins approx) add half a cup of water to remaining paint mixture, stir until combined
  • Roll pot in paint mixture once more, leave to dry
  • Once dry, drip paint mixture onto pot to cover any sparse areas
  • Blowing gently, move the paint organically across the pot to cover areas and create texture
  • Leave for 3 hours to dry
  • Using flower/plant of choice, carefully plant into pot
  • Water and leave in the sun!
