Cheesy bacon twists
Cheesy bacon twists, or cheese and bacon pastry twists are a must for your next gathering. Perfect finger food need not be hard and our cheesy bacon twists are… DELICIOUS!
- ½ 200g tub Chris’ cheese and chive dip
- ½ cup finely grated strong cheddar
- ½ cup finely chopped lean bacon
- 2 sheets butter puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten
Heat oven to 200°C or 180°C fan/gas.
Tip the dip into a bowl and mix till smooth. Place 1 pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Spread the cheese and chive dip evenly over the pastry sheet then sprinkle with the cheddar, pop the other piece of pastry on top to create a sandwich, then cut in half length ways to create 2 long rectangles. Divide each rectangle into strips, about 1.5 cm thick. Twist each pastry strip and place on a oven tray lined with baking paper. Brush with egg and sprinkle with the bacon pieces and bake for 20-25 mins until risen and golden brown. Makes 24.
