Great Ways To Entertain in Autumn
Summer has been and gone and while we are sad to see the warmer weather go, we are excited about the new season and a chance to mix up our entertaining style.
It’s time to let go of the assumption that parties are made for the warmer weather and continue to celebrate and spend quality time with friends and family this autumn with our top tips and tricks below.
Need some ideas to get you inspired? Some great ways to entertain in autumn are:
Celebrate the changing weather by hosting an outdoor party! No longer just for the summer, autumn is a great time to stay outdoors and entertain, all you need to do is implement a few tweaks to make sure your event is weather friendly and comfortable for your guests.
A great tip to remember is to ensure you always have an indoor backup – which is easy to do if you are hosting an outdoor party at your own home. As the weather is typically unpredictable, it is vital to make sure you have a big clear space where guests can mingle indoors if the weather suddenly turns. It’s a good idea to also create this space indoors before your guests arrive, so there are no last minute stresses if you are required to change locations.
Once you’ve organised your backup it’s time to set up your outdoor space to cater for the cold. Start by putting up a large umbrella, or marquee over your entertaining area that you can use to cover up your guests if required. Another great idea is to have outdoor heaters and candles to warm guests up on those extra chilly nights.
Host a dinner party:
While you can host a dinner party all year round, this autumn host one with a twist that includes everyone’s favourite warm autumn food and drinks.
A few of our favourite foods to cook include a delicious pasta dish, warm roasted vegetable salad, gourmet pizzas and an apple pie! For drinks why not mixed it up and make some mulled wine or a big jug of Pimms?
Embrace the autumn theme:
Autumn is such a beautiful season so why not embrace the theme throughout all of your parties over the next few months?
A great way to celebrate the season is to incorporate some traditional autumn colours into your decorative colour scheme by adding touches of orange, green and brown to your entertainment area to create a rustic vibe. You can add these into napkins, candles/candleholders, balloons, tablecloths and more.
Go a step further and bring autumn to your party by decorating the space with classic autumn flowers. Calla Lilies, Roses, Carnations and Hibiscuses are great options and work well when mixed in with creative leaf or branch centrepieces.
